New and Improved Pending Lapse & Lapse Letters for Life Insurance Customers!
Introducing a more consistent experience for you and your client
The confusing, outdated, black and white Pending Lapse and Lapse Letter have just received a major facelift! They will now grab the customer’s attention and help them know exactly what actions they can take to restore their policy. This will overall create a more consistent experience for you and your client.
National Life Group will no longer include reinstatement paperwork with the Lapse Letter since requirements vary from customer to customer. The letter will direct your client on what actions they need to take; in most situations (not all) a premium payment within 15 to 20 days from the date of the letter is all that is needed to restore the coverage. By doing this, National Life Group will save 16,000 pieces of paper or 2 trees per year by no longer including reinstatement paperwork!
Features on the redesigned Pending Lapse and Lapse Letters include:
Brand New for Lapse Letters:
- A coupon has been added to make it easier for the customer to make a payment.
- The total amount due to reinstate the policy is clearly defined in the upper right-hand corner. The deadline to pay this amount is listed in the body of the letter.
- In most situations, all that is required to reinstate the policy is a payment within 20 days of the date of the letter. No reinstatement paperwork will be included with the Lapse Letter.
Brand New for Pending Lapse & Lapse Letters:
- The coupon now has a section where the customer can specify how funds should be applied if they are paying something other than what is currently due.
- The back of the coupon allows the customer to provide us their new address instead of calling in.
- The language in the letter has been updated for clear visibility on what is happening to their policy as well as continuing to inform them of dates, amount due, cash value, dividend additions, and actions taken to buy Extended Term Insurance or Paid-up Life Insurance.
- The customer will be able to find your name and phone number easily when they need to contact you with any questions. It also displays the NLG contact number if they need to speak directly with NLG.
- The processing date remains on the Lapse Letter so that you and the customer will know exactly when their letter got generated.
- Pending Lapse and Lapse Letters not included in this redesign are the following: Group, Pension, Disability Bills, and Annuity.
