New and Improved Products

The new IULs (launched October 2019)

The newly launched IUL products continue to offer the same attractive features as their predecessors (think: death benefit protection for individuals and business owners, living benefit protection in times of serious illness or injury, and potential for tax-free lifetime income) but with new capabilities.

So how did we improve our IUL line-up? The new enhancements are designed to better serve your clients in protecting what matters most, with competitive features such as:

  • Competitive new index crediting strategies designed to reflect the client’s market outlook. Some are designed to offer more downside protection, and others are designed for more upside potential. Your client can choose what works and can change their index strategies as their outlook changes.
  • Expanded EZ Underwriting limits that provide quicker and easier processing for up to $2 million in death benefit amount (for ages 18-50).
  • A new, refreshed illustration experience that provides a simplified design and a colorful, professional presentation.
  • Additional index crediting bonus options to offer clients more index crediting potential, depending on the bonus option they choose. Some options are included in the contracts at no additional cost, and new PeakLife options offer for-cost choices for your more aggressive clients.

The new Whole Life products (launched March 2019)

TotalSecure was introduced earlier this year to offer your clients more predictable guarantees on the most flexible whole life product in the industry.

What makes TotalSecure stand out among the competition?

  • Flexible premium payment structures and paid-up options to fit any goal and budget. Traditional whole life insurance policies offer little flexibility with premium payments, but TotalSecure allows you to work with your client and adjust accordingly through the life of the contract.
  • Predictable strong death benefit guarantees and guaranteed cash value accumulation that can be easily accessed through policy loans and withdrawals. This feature can prove especially helpful for small business owners to help them manage cash flow.

The updated Term products (launched June 2018)

Completing our portfolio of life insurance products, National Life’s Term products offer your clients convenience, both in the application process and in opportunities to convert to permanent products.

How do our Term products compare to the competition?

  • Living benefit protection in case your client becomes seriously ill or injured.
  • Unique conversion privileges, allowing your customers to convert to any one of our permanent products.
  • Quicker processing through our EZ Underwriting program.

 

While we introduced and re-launched the new products to meet the 2017 CSO Table requirement by January 2020, the regulatory-required updates also prompted NLG to begin sunsetting products still complying with the 2001 CSO Table. 

Come November 27, 2019, applications for the products listed below will no longer be accepted. 

All pending policies that are not 2017 CSO compliant will need to be issued by December 27, 2019.

Living benefits and lifetime income are provided by riders which are supplemental benefits that can be added to a life insurance policy and are not suitable unless the client has a need for life insurance. Riders are optional, may require additional premium and may not be available in all states or on all products.
