Change In Advertising Standards for Non-Registered Affiliated Agents
Please review these important advertising changes.
Are you an agent in National Life Group’s Affiliated channel who is NOT registered to sell securities or investment advisory services through NLG’s broker/dealer – Equity Services, Inc.?
Good news for your business! Your prospecting and marketing is about to get easier. Currently, all the advertising and marketing you create requires review AND approval by NLG’s Advertising Guidance Team, but changes are coming! Effective February 2nd, if you are not registered with ESI and you meet the criteria below- much of your advertising and marketing will no longer need to be reviewed by the Home Office.
Starting February 2nd NLG Compliance review and approval is required only for created or personalized materials that:
- Mention an NLG company, product, or unique features such as LIBR, GLIR, critical injury, etc.
- Are used in a 403(b)/457(b) school slot owned by NLG. Important: review/approval is required in this case whether the advertising mentions NLG or not
- You intend to use to primarily sell an NLG product
If your materials do not meet these criteria, and you are not registered with ESI, the Home Office does not need to review them!
For social media materials and campaigns, you still have the option to use Hearsay and the extensive Marketing Library that comes with it, as long as you have prior review and approval of your profile on the platforms approved for business use. No changes here! Want to know more?
