Behind the Ribbons: A Story of Strength During Breast Cancer Awareness Month
A four-time Olympian, Chaunté's journey of resilience and determination.
According to the CDC…
About 42,000 women and 500 men in the United States die each year from breast cancer¹. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of breast cancer research, support, and survivor stories. Chaunté’s story is one of resilience and determination. Upon receiving her diagnosis, she faced a pivotal choice: to give up or to fight back. Choosing the latter, she not only battled the disease but emerged victorious, becoming a beacon of hope for many.
A four-time Olympian, Chaunté’s journey began at Georgia Tech, where her athletic prowess set her apart. She has broken the American record three times in the high jump and has competed in four Olympic Games. Throughout her journey, Chaunté has used her platform to advocate for breast cancer awareness, emphasizing the critical importance of early detection and research. As we observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month, her story reminds us of the strength found in perseverance and the power of sharing our experiences to support one another in the fight against breast cancer.
“The best gift I can give with my life is helping others find beauty in their own lives,” – Chaunté Lowe
