Important Changes to the Market Conduct and Compliance Team

After more than 25 years of service, Barb Fitch, our Chief Compliance Officer for Life & Annuity, has announced that she is retiring from National Life Group. Under Barb’s leadership, the Market Conduct & Compliance team has partnered with our distribution colleagues in the field to become a critical asset to the organization and an industry leader. She is planning on spending more time with her family while pursuing her many passions, including competitive horseback riding and, her latest, ice hockey. Barb’s last day in the office will be Friday, August 14 – please join us in wishing her well in retirement.

We also wanted to share the exciting news that Michele Dungworth, currently Assistant Vice President for Market Conduct & Compliance, will be stepping up to become our new Chief Compliance Officer following Barb’s retirement. Michele has more than 20 years of experience in the life and annuity industry. Before joining National Life in 2015, Michele worked for Allianz and New York Life in various operations and compliance roles. Please join us in welcoming Michele to her new role.
