What is My Business Actually Worth?

Gain a better understanding of business valuation within the context of buy sell arrangements.

Establishing a buy sell arrangement that is funded with life insurance is a significant step for business owners in the process of succession planning, but it cannot stop there. The probability of a business having a successful transition of ownership in the event of an owner’s death is also dependent upon the business being properly valued within the buy sell agreement. Valuation of a business for the purposes of a buy sell arrangement should be done when the arrangement is being established and repeated at regular intervals to ensure that the interest of the owners is properly valued. Evaluation of the life insurance policies being used to fund the arrangement is also imperative as they must remain proportionate to the value of each owners’ interest.

National Life’s Advanced Markets team is here to help our agents gain a better understanding of business valuation within the context of buy sell arrangements. Join us along with a special guest from the field on our upcoming webinar where we will discuss the importance of business valuation and tips on how to guide business owner clients through this process.
