Deadlines for Your 2025 Application Processing
Don’t miss these critical year-end business placement deadlines.
As the fourth quarter of 2025 is underway, National Life Group wants to enable agents to be well equipped and have the best year-end experience possible. Check out the resources below for everything you need to know to finish the year strong!
NLGROUP UPCOMING OFFICE CLOSURES
Thursday, Nov 27 – Holiday
- Office closed for All Employees
Friday, Nov 28 – NLG Holiday
- Office closed except those critical to trading and servicing variable products.
- Sentinel and ESI: the equity markets are open until 1p ET and bond markets until 2p ET. As such ESI must staff for any client trades or money movement requests that day. Reduced staff until 2p ET.
- CEC and Sales Desk are closed
Thursday, Dec 25 – Holiday
- Office closed for All Employees
Thursday, Jan 1 – Holiday
- Office closed for All Employees
Important Deadlines
Friday, November 14th
- Life policies with an internal or external 1035 Exchange needed for year-end must be approved and in good order to allow adequate time for funds to transfer from the replaced carrier
Friday, November 21
- Premium finance applications should be approved. Banks may have reduced availability due to the holidays, please allow for adequate time for funding
Friday, December 5
- Final Rewrite requests must be received and in good order
Friday, December 19
- New Business eApps and paper applications must be received and in good order
- Final Requirements must be received and in good order
- Pension/Profit Sharing Plan applications must be received and in good order
To make time-sensitive disbursement requests before year-end:
Any Life or Annuity policy disbursement request (including required minimum distributions) received by the Home Office after Monday, December 8th may not be processed prior to year-end. In order to ensure processing within the 2024 tax year, please submit to disbursement requests in advance of this date.
Deadline for Term Conversion Applications to be issued and paid in 2025
- Friday, December 5: Term conversions requiring underwriting (improvement in premium class, increase in coverage, additional riders that are not on term policy) .
- Friday, December 12: Deadline for Term Conversions submitted on a paper application to be issued and paid in 2025, must be received by end of day and be in good order (including illustration).
- Friday, December 19: Term Conversions submitted via eApp to be issued and paid in 2025 must be received by end of day and be in good order.
Note: If the conversion requires underwriting the deadline is 12/6.
Important Tips for submitting Term Conversions:
- Use eApp for Term Conversions
- Be sure the Owner of the TERM policy signs the Term Conversion Application
- If policy is assigned the Term Conversion application must be signed by an authorized officer of the bank, with signature notarized
- Include initial payment instructions (such as draft initial payment or send check of initial payment)
- If term is being partially converted give instructions to either cancel the remaining term insurance or continue the remaining term insurance
- Please include an illustration with all Term Conversions to ensure the new policy is issued correctly.
- Thursday, November 20: Cutoff for deposit on Tuesday, November 25.
- Tuesday, November 25: Cutoff for deposit on Tuesday, December 2 (the change from Thursday to Tuesday due to the holiday week).
- Thursday, December 18: Cutoff for deposit on Tuesday, December 23.
- Tuesday, December 23: Cutoff for deposit on Tuesday, December 30 (the change from Thursday to Tuesday due to the holiday week). Note – this is the last commission cutoff for tax year 2025.
- Thursday, December 31: Cutoff for deposit on Tuesday, January 6. Note – this pay cycle will be tax year 2026.
* Remember to update your mailing address within the Commissions Payment Portal so tax statements (including 1099s and W2Ss) are sent to your desired address.
