Get More Auto Decisions for Life Applications
Qualify for straight-through processing with these best practices.
There are a few common reasons why applications submitted in eApp don’t qualify for automatic decisions.
Avoid slowdowns by following some best practices.
Medication/dosage information is provided in a text field in the medical conditions section
- Wait for the Medications section, where you can select the right medications from the drop-down list and Confirm. (Don’t just write in the medication name.)
- Don’t include dosage information anywhere unless prompted by the app.
Writing in medical conditions instead of selecting the ones that apply
- Check all relevant conditions in the list.
- For other conditions, select from the drop-down list and Confirm. (Don’t just write in the name of the condition.)
Reason for last consultation is missing
- Be sure to check one or more conditions in the list. (Do not choose “Other” if one of the listed options applies.)
- For a regular annual exam, select “Routine Exam/Checkup – Normal Outcome.”
Issues with juvenile face amounts
Applications are only eligible for straight-through processing if:
- Juvenile face amounts are not higher than $1,000,000.
- Siblings are equally insured.
- Coverage for a juvenile is not higher than the parent’s coverage. (At least one parent should have equal or higher coverage in place or pending.)
Other pitfalls
- Avoid choosing Other when entering Premium Information.
- Do not order labs and/or APS unless requested by the underwriter or required based on age and face amount.
