Celebrating Our 2024 Do Good Heroes: Honoring Courage, Compassion, and Community Impact
At National Life Group, the Do Good Heroes program celebrates individuals who excel in serving their communities. Each month, we honor one exceptional public servant with a $1,000 award. From these monthly winners, we select two grand prize winners each year to receive an additional $5,000 to donate to a charitable organization of their choice.
This year, we are proud to recognize our 2024 Do Good Heroes Grand Prize Winners: Lieutenant Tina Guiler of Miami-Dade Fire-Rescue and Senior Officer Rick Krause of the Bel Air Police Department.
Lt. Tina Guiler – Miami-Dade Fire-Rescue, Miami, FL
Nominated by: Scott Storick, Florida Financial and Insurance Agency
Lt. Tina Guiler has served South Florida for over 20 years as a firefighter and paramedic. After battling cancer caused by job-related hazards, she founded the Triple F Foundation to support first responders facing physical or emotional hardships. The foundation provides financial assistance and peer support for job-related injuries, illnesses, and stress, including cancer and PTSD. Tina focuses on supporting women in emergency services through scholarships, conference sponsorships, and leadership development. She also mentors young women starting careers in fire and EMS and launched Triple F Dolls to inspire girls to become first responders. Her $5,000 grand prize donation will support the Triple F Foundation’s mission.
Senior Officer Rick Krause – Bel Air Police Department, Bel Air, MD
Nominated by: Ryan Behnken of Worthington Financial Partners
Senior Officer Rick Krause has served Bel Air, Maryland, for nearly two decades. As a former U.S. Army Military Policeman, he now protects and mentors students as a School Resource Officer. He leads the Bel Air Police Department’s youth Explorer Post and summer Youth Camp, helping young people build discipline, confidence, and leadership skills. In 2023, Rick’s daughter Olivia was diagnosed with stage four Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Inspired by the University of Maryland Medical Center’s Child Life Program, which supported Olivia during her treatment, Rick is donating his $5,000 grand prize award to this program to help other children and families during difficult times.
