Living Benefits Awareness Month: Supporting Clients in Need
Going above and beyond for your clients.
Selling life insurance with Living Benefits is a great way to provide your clients with peace of mind. But as an agent, you could help them even more.
Besides filing a Living Benefits claim for your clients when they are seriously ill or critically injured, one way you could help is by pointing them to valuable resources and support.
For example, there are many organizations that help people affected by cancer. One such organization, the Blue Bag Project*, was founded by a National Life agent who knows first-hand the power of Living Benefits.
From healing to helping
One reason Richard Reyes goes the extra mile is that he’s personally experienced a life-changing event.
Diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and a tumor that couldn’t be removed, Richard turned to immunotherapy, which left him too sick to work. Luckily, the Living Benefits on his National Life policy allowed him to access money early, enabling him to focus on his treatment without financial worries.
We featured Richard’s inspiring story in one of our most popular Living Benefits videos. But his story doesn’t end there.
Richard founded the Blue Bag Project, which provides thoughtful essentials — and a much-needed touch of kindness — during a difficult time to those affected by cancer.
“They fight cancer bravely, and the Blue Bag Project stands shoulder to shoulder with them in the fight. I started this initiative to make it possible for people to send cancer warriors comfort, hope, and positive vibes, and to empower them on their journey,” Richard says. “ It’s not what you have — it’s what you give!”
