National Life has broken into the top 20 life insurance companies as ranked by sales.
The company ranked No. 19 in the industry-ranking of 2014 life insurance sales.
“I am so very proud,” said CEO Mehran Assadi. “It has taken many years and the work of countless National Life employees and producers to get us to this point.”
“This tells me that our story and our values and our approach are playing well in Middle America,” said Mehran. “People want to associate with a company that is grounded on America’s Main Street.”
The 2014-2016 corporate strategic plan for National Life is titled, “The Journey from Relevance to Prominence.”
“We are on that journey and well on our way to prominence,” said Mehran. “Being a top 20 life insurance company is a huge milestone for us.”
The top 20 ranking is considered a company best in recent decades. Although older records are spotty they show that National Life ranked 22 among 1,200 companies in 1958.
As a comparison from recent years, National Life ranked No. 31 in 2009.
Life sales in 2014 were 172 million in weighted new annualized premium. Life sales have roughly doubled since 2010 when they totaled 88 million.
